WSCDC is a government entity formed by a cooperative venture by its members pursuant to Article VII, Section 10 of the 1970 constitution of the State of Illinois and pursuant to the Intergovernmental Cooperation Act, Chapter 5, Act 220 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes.
WSCDC is licensed for Emergency Medical Dispatch with the Illinois Department of Public Health, Division of EMS and Highway Safety and functions as prescribed in 210 ILCS 50 (The Illinois EMS Act), as well as the Illinois Administrative Code, including 77 Ill. Adm. Code 515, Section 515.710 (e).
The authorized staffing level for WSCDC is twenty-five (25) Telecommunicators, three (3) shift Supervisors, one (1) Administrative Assistant, one (1) Deputy Director, and one (1) Executive Director.
The Operations Committee is comprised of the police and fire chiefs from the communities served by the center. The Operations Committee reviews policy and day-to-day operations and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors is comprised of the Village/City Managers of the four (4) communities served by the center. The Board of Directors approves the annual budget, reviews the audit, and oversees the Executive Director.
The annual budget is approximately 3.3 million dollars.
